What was the initial inspiration for your app?
We knew that this would be a big year for sports with the Olympics, and that many parents would love to get their kids interested in sports as a result. But we also felt that many parents, just like us, might know a lot about some sports but next to nothing about the others. That’s why we decided to create an app that would let the kids explore the sports themselves and also make it fun for parents to use with their kids as a talking point. The Olympics are over now, but we think getting children interested in sports is as relevant as ever!
What is your favorite aspect of your app?
There are two. We love it that the app works well for the families that have kids of different ages. The younger ones can play with the animations, whereas the older ones can really increase their knowledge of sports. The other aspect of the app that we love is the fact that teachers use it in the classroom. We are collecting the classroom use ideas and publishing them on our website and the blog.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
The big difference between an app and a book is that an app is a changeable object. We are very keen to hear from families and teachers who use Zoo Champs – Sports Guide for Kids and hope we can include their feedback into our future updates. Our contact information is in the iTunes app description.
