Meet The Developer!

DeveloperPhotoWhat was the initial inspiration for  your app?

Most of my apps start with the same inspiration. My son!. He loves our rescued dogs, cat, tortoises, and birds. Going to the zoo and aquarium are some of his favorite activities. He is right at the age where counting everything, especially animals, is fun.

What is your favorite aspect of your app?

I enjoy a very rich illustration style. I believe preschool age kids are right at the turning point were they can revel in this rich style. Early versions of the app were so realistic, that the animals natural camouflage actually blended into the background too much. It was a challenge to create clarity while still preserving a natural look.
I enjoy exploratory learning, and this requires a layered interface. The games can be played in multiple ways with multiple purposes. When a child is still learning how to play the game, randomly clicking on animals is enough to lead the child thru the game, but with a low score. Clicking on the buttons with the correct answers achieves a higher score. Moving the background and exploring the environment adds another layer to the game experience.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

This app took a year to create, build, interweave into an enjoyable, educational, challenging and fun experience. My son and I play this game together, and we both delight in each achievement, as he learns to navigate thru the games, learns the goals of each game, and finds his way. I am sure you and your child will find it as wonderful as we do!
