A real plus is that Tap The Cat can  help build the fine motor skills ! There is a record back feature so that they can hear and play back the words. Tap the Cat is brought to you by Reading Eggs – a team of educators with more than 20 years’ experience in early childhood education, who believe learning to read should be fun, motivating, and full of success. Meet The Developers!

reggieWhat was the initial inspiration for  your app?

After the success of our online reading program for computer, Reading Eggs, we had a lot of demand from parents for an early reading app that their kids could play both at home or on the go. Many of us have kids at home so we know how much they love playing on iPads and mobile phones and love to learn through touch, so we wanted to make an app that made the most of the unique touch interactivity of the iPad.

What is your favorite aspect of your app?

I’m really proud of the voice play back feature that allows kids to record themselves reading, and  then play back and hear what they sound like!

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

We have a number of other fun apps  that teach kids core literacy skills  like the alphabet, sight words and spelling. You can learn more about our range of apps here: ReadingEggs
