Plants HD is presented in an intuitive and educational format that is certain to entice kids to keep coming back. My grandson is already sharing the game and the videos with anyone who will cooperate and he is not quite 4 years old.  This app makes it easy to teach the youngest kids about topics like seeds, germination, pollination, flowers, trees, fruits, and dispersal.

Consistent positive reinforcement and the perfect background music make this a joyful and relaxed educational experience. The quizzes are even fun!  Plants HD delivers high-quality interactive content about plants and their lifecycle. The app provides an in-depth look into topics such as seeds, germination, pollination, flowers, trees, fruits, and dispersal. The photos are stacked like cards to flip through. Interesting facts can be scrolled at the bottom of the screen. Set it to “read to me” and relax as your kids absorb the information. For this review, I chose the seeds. Every facet you see in the game has the same features! Just press and hold an image from the game view to open all the goodies! I had to pick one or I would still be editing video in 6 months. What was the initial inspiration for your app?

When we searched for good science apps for my 6 year old daughter we just could not find any with deep and meaningful content. Most of the apps in the Appstore were for Pre-K kids. This was the inspiration to build apps from which older kids can learn more about the world they live in.

We firmly believe the future of education lies in the iPad and similar technology where kids have the opportunity to learn from various different medium like animations, games, photos, videos and quizzes and the touch based interface. Education just from textbooks is really a thing of the past.

The possibilities are truly endless and we are just getting started!

What is your favorite aspect of your app?

In Plants HD, our favorite aspect is the game on the home page where the kids can rearrange the life cycle steps in the right order. This game is not as easy as it looks and really reinforces the amazing life cycle of plants.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

We want parents and teachers to know that the apps that Sprout Labs make are carefully researched and written by teachers and the content will be a great supplement to the curriculum taught in schools. We will be constantly enhancing the features that are available in our apps as we develop new ones.
