What was the initial inspiration for Talking Pocoyo?
We have received many requests from parents to create a Pocoyo app that their kids can interact and play with and take along with them. A 24h/7 “interactive digital friend”!
What is your favorite aspect of your app?
Overall we are extremely pleased with the app, but what makes us really happy is to see people’s first reactions – kids and adults alike! We love the “guess the animal” section of the app, and we’ve noticed that it’s one of the kid’s favorites too. The production value of the app is first class and we are happy with the level of interaction and sharing possibilities is provides.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
We are so proud of Pocoyo! Pocoyo is an award-winning animated series about a young boy’s discovery of the world around him, representing a universe of core values that promotes a philosophy of curiosity, sincerity, interest, tolerance, respect and love. With these guiding principles, Pocoyo fosters “Learning through Laughter™,” utilizing a blend of humor and learning which mimics children’s development to inspire and inform them. Pocoyo is narrated by writer/actor Stephen Fry (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Alice in Wonderland, Bones) who guides Pocoyo with gentle humor. In the U.S. he can be seen on Nick Jr., Univision and various PBS Stations, and can be seen on TV in over 150 countries around the world. Pocoyo has over 750,000 Facebook fans, and over 14 million people have been Pocoyized to date (You can find our site links on iTunes). Amongst his many international awards, in the U.S. Pocoyo has received a Parent’s Choice Recommended Award and a NAPPA Gold Award. An iPad version of Talking Pocoyo will be launched pretty soon – in a month or so, and versions in other platforms are in the pipeline.
