Abjad City for iPad – Fun Way To Learn Some Arabic!

2

Abjad City for iPad is presented to us by Abjad Hawaz. This amazing app is much more than a game! Kids will be learning the 28 letters of The Arabic Language and having a blast while they are at it. They will also be picking up on a bit of basic vocabulary. This is a very exciting game that take you flying away on a magic carpet to collect the scattered objects, such as Arabic letter, that were tossed everywhere in an attempt to destroy Abjab City! This app has a green theme and we all love teaching our kids about environmental health. The levels include themes that cover Animals, Fruits & Vegetables, Actions, Professions, Body Parts, and Objects. You can choose to be a boy or girl hero! The App is available for both the iPhone and iPad.

It’s a beautiful world we live in. This app helps all of us with the ever growing knowledge that we are all one people – just different – so let’s explore the differences and help to heal the world! Teachers: This would be a great app for break time or reward time in class! Even apps can change the world through the talents and hearts of fantastic developers!

Meet The Visionaries!

What was the initial inspiration for this app?

The Abjad City App is based, in part, on our Abjad board game – with a twist. Before Abjad Hawaz existed, we were creating games for our own kids, to help them learn Arabic in a fun and interactive format. Then the idea of making a company for other kids to benefit from our products came into existence. Our first product was the Abjad! A board game for 3-7 year olds that introduces the Arabic Alphabet and some basic vocabulary in a bingo-like game format. After we finished the board game, we felt we wanted to create something which would appeal to a larger audience, and go where the kids are these days: Apps. So we built a story around the game, and designed an adventure that became Abjad City.

What is your favorite aspect of the app?

We especially love the colorful scenery in Abjad City. Our favorite character is Sheikh Al-Abjadiya (the creator of the Abjad Alphabet), although Sharoor – his evil nemesis – is a close second. What makes the App so much fun is that it’s really a game. When you’re playing, you forget that there’s learning involved.

Is there anything else you’d like to say to our readers?

We really hope that the kids enjoy playing Abjad City. It was made with kids of all ages and backgrounds in mind, whether they speak Arabic fluently, know a little bit of Arabic, or are interested in learning a few words. We’d love to hear back from you so you can help us in designing our future products.

Truly bridging the gap here. I keep taking it away from the kids to play this game and i find myself repeating the letters of the alphabet as my magic carpet takes me away.

I know what you mean – These apps are getting so good that my “little girl” doesn’t want to stop playing either. Seriously – this is a great one for all ages with a heartfelt desire to share! Great Developers! Thank you for commenting A.M.I
