You Are Stardust – A Mesmerizing App For Kids of All Ages – 3D Magic
You Are Stardust put me in a trance from the first tap! I was mesmerized by the sound effects, narration, and animation. Kids are enticed to keep coming back and enjoy this app thanks to its calming tone and amazing graphics. It actually has the feel of a guided meditation! For activity, kids can build their own diorama and email it to friends! This is an app that will help our kids to understand that we are one with all things! It will expand their connection to nature as well as art. Kids can shake and swipe to enjoy the hidden gifts. Encourage them to tap around and explore this amazing piece of artwork.
The app is presented to us by OwlKids Books. It is the perfect app for a classroom or any gathering of budding artists. Teachers, this is a great tool for you to share with your kids!

Meet The Developers!
What was the initial inspiration for your app?
The partnership happened serendipitously when Think Thirty Three met with Owlkids last spring to discuss working with the company’s magazines for children. When presented with a copy of the newly delivered You Are Stardust book, Think Thirty Three’s president and founder, Seth Singer, was captivated by the book’s vision and proposed creating an app for it. “We were inspired by the creativity and imagination captured in the pages of You Are Stardust, so we wanted to work with Owlkids to turn this original book into an experience. On the iPad, kids can interact with the scenes as they listen to the words, hear the music and sounds and watch the story truly come to life,” said Singer.
What is your favorite aspect of your app?
The app is a visual journey. It communicates the book’s important message to children in a very fresh way. In progressing through the app, the user controls so many of the on-screen details through swipes and shakes, and this interactivity really helps draw kids into nature and the story. The build-your-own-diorama feature is another way to take ownership over the experience, as well as a way to share it with friends.
Is there anything else you’d like to say to our readers?
This app will inspire delight and imagination. We think the app will also lead readers to the printed children’s book, You Are Stardust, and vice-versa. Both introduce kids to big and important ideas, and can help spark conversations in classrooms and around kitchen tables. You are Stardust (The Book) can be found at Amazon.com.
